Minutes from November 10, 2004 - CDGC Club meeting: Attendees: Ralph Vickers, Stan McDaniel, Dave Marchant, Doug & Diane Singleton, Wit, Tripp Cole, Jamie 1) Money Bag$' update: $850 in the bank after all is said and done 2) Courses Updates: Kilborne: Dino Baskin has quoted $35 for a set of 19 self-adhesive and weather proof bright yellow markers for the number plates on the baskets. Tripp noted that several baskets need to be replanted to get number plates facing the tee pad correctly. Reedy Creek: ditto Kilborne on the tee pad markers. Bill Jacobson says a workday is need to continue the project of shoring up tee pads. Bill has all but final approval/sign-off completed before we start adding alt and long tee pads. Hornet’s Nest: Course is in great shape after Fall Finale’. Michael Johansen will be running fundraiser events over the winter to raise funds so we can get additional baskets for 10 and possibly 11. A huge thank you to Harold Duvall of Innova who is lending us 9 baskets and having his guys do the installation and swapping while Parks & Rec has them out being re-furbished. Sugaw Creek: Stan has had good response with the sponsor a hole program and fundraising. He will set a 2-3 week window where these volunteer crews can grub out the fairways so that Stan can get in there with his chainsaw. Renaissance: Work project planned to fix the bridge between 9 & 10 (original). There is also a plan to fill in part of the ravine on 13 (original) so that the mowers can gain access to the entire area. 3) Fundraiser for Fall Finale. 5 disc limited edition disc set featuring our 5 18-hole courses. Artwork will be $100 each - $500 total. Sets will sell for $50. Will advertise in DG World News magazine along with Fall Finale info. 4) Ice Bowl 2005. January 14th – 23rd will be the events. Freedom is dead. Too much natural area and other Park & Rec restrictions to make it work. Park Road Park will be used like last year – 24 temp holes with minor modifications Schedule is: Fri (1/14) – Glo at Hornet’s Nest Sat (1/15) – Bring your partner doubles at the Nest Mon (1/17) – Glo at Reedy Creek Wed (1/19) – Cam Yards Special Edition Sat (1/22) – Ice Bowl main event – Park Road Park – 2 rounds of Singles Sun (1/23) – Ice Bowl doubles at Park Road Park – 2 rounds $ Plans: $65 gets you into all events and a players’ pack. Giving a PayPal option on the club site. Other games including a BagTag pyramid and a scalps game – both of which which would have an online updated component to make them work. Adding members’ pictures to the website. Involving our club events in the DGU handicapping/scoring. 6) Renny Muleskins: Dave’s proposal. C-Tier Renny-only PDGA event to be held 2nd or 3rd week of April. We agreed get the paperwork in to the PDGA. Dave to do that by 11/30.
