Success
stories and tips from some of our record setting IceBowl contributors:
Tripp
Cole: $1800.00 raised. "I went to the people I subcontract for and also
Mieneke Car Care where I get my truck fixed. I asked if
they would be willing
to sponsor me for a charity disc golf tournament, told them for who and that I
was looking for
$1.00 a hole for 18 holes or whatever they could spare. This
really worked."
Ralph Vickers: $850.00 raised. "I simply
asked my fellow co-workers for donations. Was not particular about how much they
gave me
and would always be thankful and let them know how much we appreciated
it."
Kenny Peace: "I sent an e-mail around a couple of
Wachovia departments of about 300 folks...raised about $450." ($525 actually!)
Evan
Stechmiller: $200 raised. "Some of our local employers have established
donation matching programs for qualified non-profit charities.
For me it was
as easy as filling out a form on-line and my employer matched my $100 donation
w/ another $100 matching donation.
It was almost as simple as checking out
local disc golf happenings via the CDGC website".
Dave Marchant:
$157 raised. "I spent around 1 hour going door-to-door in my neighborhood
with my 3 year old daughter in tow
and the sign up form in hand asking for
small donations. Inclement weather and travel kept me from easily doing 3x that".
