Bradford Park DGC
Robert Caldwell Bradford Park provides a major recreation and sports facility for Huntersville, Davidson, Cornelius and rapidly growing suburbs of northern Mecklenburg County. The park covers 210 acres. Bradford Park represents a unique partnership among Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and the Parks and Recreation Departments of the Huntersville and Davidson. The disc golf course here is targeted towards intermediate and advanced level players with multiple tee locations and basket locations (used for tournament play). The feel of the course will remind you of Hornets Nest with a good variety of wooded and open holes. Some water comes into play here. Bradford Park Disc Golf Course also has some unique features including Cedar Alley, Holes 8-11 and uses various formations of cedar trees to create unique style holes.
For a quick 9 hole loop play 1-4 use the transition to #14 and finish out the course.
A little extra time? Play 27 holes. 1-14, 4-18.

This Event Counts Toward Club Singles
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We will be pouring concrete tee pads at The Scrapyard in Idlewild Park Nov 11th starting at 8:00 AM. Stan will be directing along with Rob Kelly but WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. If you have shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, etc. bring them! If you don’t have tools please bring yourself, we will need all the help out there we can get. Work gloves will be a big help and wear clothes that you won’t mind getting a bit of concrete on. If you can’t make it in the morning we will still need your help to guard tee pads while they set and keep away the artists and dancers. Stan will be there until the park closes and you know how lonely he gets. So come out and help put the finishing touch on one of the many crown jewels of Charlotte disc golf!

More than 240 disc golfers battled the Charlotte summer and eight top-notch courses June 25-26 at the 2nd Charlotte Amateur Championship. A year from now these same Charlotte Disc Golf Club courses will be testing the best in the world – many of whom will surely be local players.
Charlotte resident Brad Ramsey (-19) had no problem navigating the advanced men’s courses of Renaissance, Eastway, Nevin, and Hornet’s Nest parks. Ramsey, who finished behind another local Paul Priest at the Carolina Clash, ended up beating second place Priest by two strokes. Also in the hunt were Michael Baranowski (-13) and Will Taylor (-10). Ramsey said he was right at home with each round’s courses. He even skip aced no. 3 during the final round at Hornet’s Nest. “I play those courses a lot. They definitely are a regular stomping ground for me … It was just like playing another round of golf,” said Ramsey, who lives near Renaissance Park. After several near misses at North Carolina tournaments, he said he was happy to finally put together an entire weekend of good golf. Doing it in your own backyard certainly was sweet for Ramsey. “I don’t think it’s quite sunk in yet. I think it will, though,” he said with a big smile.
In advanced women, Stephanie Miller, of Carrboro, N.C., took home the trophy after beating local Casey Schoonover by four strokes. She held on after having the lead after Saturday.
Other division winners include:
Advanced masters: John Rochester, of Charlotte.
Advanced grandmasters: Mark Beasley, of Charlotte.
Intermediate men: 13-year-old Aaron Doyle, of North Augusta, S.C.
Intermediate women: Amber Snow, of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Recreational: Brian Starnes, of Cornelius, N.C.
Junior Boys: Jonathan Pfeiffer, of Charlotte.
