Congratulations Sam and Stan. They now join Bill Jacobson as CDGC members who
have won the coveted Golden Rake award.
The Golden Rake is awarded annually at the USDGC to recognize the spirit of volunteerism
and those who stand out as going beyond expectations.
Stan has been designing and building disc golf courses for us to enjoy for over 20 years.
He is a former World Champion, is in the Disc Golf Hall of Fame has been either playing in
or volunteering at the USDGC since its inception, and is one of the primary forces behind
the CDGC. Thank-you Mule #1, for making Charlotte disc golf the best.
Sam is an integral part of our disc golf community. TD for the 2012 World Championships, he
has been a tireless promoter of disc golf throughout his career. His stewardship of the CDGC
treasury plus course work coupled with his efforts at the USDGC earned him the title Mule #2.
We owe more to these gentlemen than can ever be repaid. They have helped give Charlotte a
disc golf legacy without equal. Thank-you Harold Duvall, for recognizing their efforts.
2013 Youth Disc Golf League – Fall Season
The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is currently registering for the 2013 Youth Disc Golf League fall season. League play will begin on September 15th and be held at Reedy Creek and Elon Park. Tee times will be Sunday afternoons beginning at 1pm. Registration will run through August 31st for participants ages 7-18. The registration fee is $30.00 (basic equipment package) or $45.00 (extra equipment package). Jim Banbury defended his title to remain Senior Grand Master World Champion
In the Masters Division David Gebhardt fought his way into the finals from the second card and took 4th place while Chris Uhl took 17th.
Doug Singleton took 22nd in Senior Grand Masters. Not bad for an old man.
Alex Lambert won her division, Junior Girls ≤ 16. From the scores she posted, she had a pretty good shot at the Junior Girls ≤ 19.

Philo Braithwaite Clinic at SCAL TONIGHT!
Philo Braithwaite, Innova Team Member and 1029-rated Pro, will be at Sugaw Creek Am League TONIGHT at 5:15 PM for a clinic on DG fundamentals. Philo will have about 30 minutes for demonstrations and Q&A with players before we get the round started.
He will be bringing some hot new plastic for prizes, but his tips may be the most valuable thing you go home with.

Cub Scout Pack 80 is meeting at 9 am, Saturday June 22nd, at Springfield Elemetary School in Fort Mill SC, 1691 Springfield Pkwy, Fort Mill, SC 29715. They will be playing the 9 hole EDGE course that is there as a pack event. Any Disc Golfer who would like to help teach the kids how to throw a disc, how to play the game, and just a love of the game, is invited to join us.

Schleppy and Bravethrower have decided to start a weekly random draw doubles league on Friday nights at Bradford. Sign ups will start at 5:15 with tee time at 5:45. Cash payout. $5 entry fee with an optional $1 ace pool.
